About the event
Are you a naturally minded Mama, hoping to connect with like-minded families? Do you and your little enjoy spending time together outside, and you want to be part of a community with the same values? Be part of the “Mothers, Natured” community!
This series of gatherings is hosted by nature-based educator and naturalist, Emily Woodmansee, and parenting and family wellness coach, Dora Tsiattalos. Each gathering will include a holistic activity to experience with your child, then children will engage in nature play guided by Emily while Dora holds space for a support-based chat between mothers.
WHO SHOULD JOIN?
These gatherings are open to mothers and their children, ages birth-15 years. If you have an older child who would like to join, please reach out.
SCHEDULE
These gatherings take place monthly starting in May 2023 through August 2023. See the exact dates as well as activities below.
WHAT DO YOU GET?
Beyond a supportive, engaged community, you will leave each session with a homemade concoction and a recipe. Dora and Emily will guide you through creating something to enjoy or keep your family healthy, and you'll feel more confident mixing up your own remedies and goodies at home. Your participating child(ren) will leave with new friendships, muddy hands, and a new appreciation for the natural world! Here's the full lineup:
May 18th - DIY Bug spray
June 8th - Herbal salve
July 6th - Elderberry syrup
August 10th - Wild foraged soda
We'll also provide tea and light, healthy snacks at each gathering. Please feel free to bring your own drinks and snacks as well.
WHERE WILL WE MEET?
Most of these gatherings will take place at Dora's 6-acre farm in Shohola, PA. This setting offers an ideal space for connection and nature place, with indoor space available in case of inclement weather. Exact locations will be shared before each gathering, but they will all take place in Shohola.
WHAT IS MY INVESTMENT?
Nature connection and herbal medicine should never be cost prohibitive, but all proceeds from these gathering go to cover materials and to help Dora and Emily offer more ways for families to get outside together. Each session is $45* and we'll provide all of the herbal materials (each event is BYO container and we'll provide guidance before each event to help you choose the right one to bring). Payment is required at least two weeks before the session(s). If you would like to register for multiple sessions, you'll receive a $10 discount per session ($35* per session).
*These rates apply to a mother and up to two children. To help cover materials for the nature play time, additional children will be $5. Worn or carried siblings are free.
